Wearing White

DRESS, SANDALS, SILK SCARF: (c/o) Banana Republic

I’ve always lived in the south. I spent my childhood + teenage years in Houston, Texas. Then in South Florida where I danced ballet, went to college, worked, started my blog and so on. Both environments are pretty laid back with fashion rules – i.e. “the rule of wearing white.” Maybe it’s because warmer climates tend to have more leeway when it comes to white. Or maybe it’s that times have changed and there aren’t really any rules in fashion – it’s more about your style. [besides, rules are meant to be broken. If only you knew what we did to get these photos. But let’s save that for another story…]

Utility & Comfort

UTILITY SHIRT, EARRINGS: J.Crew/SHORTS, HAT: (c/o) Ann Taylor/SLIDES: (c/o) Shopbop/BAG: Zara – love this one!

I don’t know what it is about ease and comfort lately but I’m all about it. And no, I’m not talking about baggy sweatpants and your boyfriend’s old college t-shirt. (Although I’m definitely guilty of wearing those things on my “Netflix & Chill” nights.) I’m talking easy oversized utility shirts for the summer, comfortable linen shorts and cute slides. Items that are ultra comfortable yet incredibly stylish…

Black & White, Just Right

Happy Monday! Get ready to whip out those credit cards… because today I’m introducing a new and exciting brand to you guys called River Island! (yes, there’s a promo code below)

Ok, so River Island isn’t exactly “new.” They’re huge in the UK, Ireland, internationally throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe. But not so much in the US.

Yellow from the Tropics

Is it me, or is every major clothing brand using yellow in their collections lately? First it was pink. Now yellow. I dig both. But lately, I’m really vibin’ with shade. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of sunshine, fresh lemonade, scrambled eggs, bumblebees, yummy mustard, flowers… or maybe it’s because it stands out? Regardless, the color yellow tends to be bright and bold. So I’m all in.

Case in point, today’s look from Ann Taylor.

Ciao Makes Me Feel…

Today I’m sharing what my day to day looks like in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida and how wearing the fragrance Ciao by Vince Camuto inspires me to conquer the world and go after my dreams, one spritz at a time…

[Shot by Chelsae Anne]

Whether styling, taking a ballet class, blogging or going on a date, Ciao makes me feel fresh, flirty and fearless. It acts as my finishing touch, an invisible accessory that adds a hint of romanticism to the most average day.

Ciao is a delicate blend of pink grapefruit and tangy Italian mandarin grounded in wild strawberries and blackberries. It fuses floral notes (think: roses, peonies, soft muguets, honeysuckles, jasmine and passionflower) with amber (one of my favorite scents), cashmeran, amaro liquor, sandalwood and patchouli to create a smoldering finish. It’s delicious.

And a fragrance that’s quickly become one of my top-shelf contenders this spring; one that compliments all moments of my life! Feminine gals, this scent was made for you.

Sunny Weekend with Marks & Spencer

[Chelsae Anne | Photographer]

I can’t get over how beautiful Palm Beach is during spring. Some would argue that winter is the best season here. But I disagree. I think springtime is the prettiest. Flowers are in full bloom, the weather is warm (but not too warm) and all the out-of-towners (snowbirds, as we like to call them) who visit Palm Beach for the wintertime are gone. Leaving the town with nothing but locals until October (when “season” picks back up again).

Comfy Chic

Let’s be honest for one second. When I think about my “outfit of the day, I tend to think about comfort. (Weekends don’t count.) I have way too much going on these days to worry about fussy clothing. AND the Florida heat can be brutal so wearing something breathable is super important. Extra points if it’s an outfit that exudes an effortlessly cool vibe. Which, as you all know, is my thang.
