Alex and Ani Event!

TEE, BELT: Anthropologie/JEANS, BAG: (c/o) Shopbop/HEELS: (c/o) Ann Taylor

It’s been two years since I’ve hosted an event in South Florida! I took a break from it to focus on creating content for the blog. Since then, so much has changed and many of you guys have asked to do a meet up. So I could not be any more excited for today’s announcement…

This Friday, Nov. 3, I’m hosting the grand opening of Alex and Ani at the Palm Beach Gardens Mall from 6-9PM! You’ll want to arrive early because the first 100 people in line will be entered to win lots of goodies including GCs valued up to $250! There will be desserts, a DJ and lots of opportunities to win other goodies like backpacks and such. 15% of the proceeds from the event will go towards rebuilding homes affected by the recent hurricanes. Oh, and I’ll be there too… to answer any questions you may have about style, fashion, career advice or blogging!

Emerging Designers

As a fashion blogger in a crowded market, I aim to be unique, to showcase my personality and to tell a story through my style. I search far and wide for inspiration sometimes in unlikely places so that I can be different… because I don’t always like “following trends.” You guys know this.

The fact is, the blogosphere is an oversaturated place, and if you want to stand out, you need to be original. When newbie bloggers ask for advice, I tell them to, “Be yourself…. you are what makes your blog unique. It’s about your outlook on the world, your creativity, the value you add…”  But all too often, bloggers (I, included from time to time) forget this and fall into the trap of blending in… Trust me, it’s a struggle!

So that’s why today’s look is one of my favorites this week because it serves as a personal reminder of why I started The Style Bungalow in the first place. To be different.

Hey guys! It’s Tuesday. Let’s get right to it.

But before I do, check out this sale. Completely unrelated, I know… but R13 Clothing is super cute and as a fashion blogger, I feel responsible for letting you guys know when there’s a good sale going on! Definitely check it out – in particular, their leopard print bomber jacket and sweater! So cute!

Ok, now back to today’s post…

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Both my bank account and I have come to the conclusion that life is too short to ignore cute sweaters. Pretty sure everyone else feels the same way.

Because I CANNOT go shopping without seeing sweaters everywhere. Bell-sleeved sweaters. Pastel sweaters. Oversized sweaters. Cashmere sweaters. Logo sweaters. Statement sweaters. It seems they are everywhere. Which I like to think is a “sign” from the shopping angels above to forge ahead and invest. More

Looking Cool When it’s Warm

TURTLENECK: J.Crew/BLOUSE: The Kooples – more options here/SHORTS: Maje/HEELS: (c/o) Ann Taylor/BAG: (c/o) Isti/EARRINGS: (c/o) BaubleBar/SUNNIES: (c/o) Neiman Marcus

The weather in South Florida is anything but cold right now. In fact, it’s scorching – hot and humid with little to no room for wearing warm clothing. But that’s not stopping me from stepping out in a cute outfit. Besides – If I took off the turtleneck, the look would not be the same. Priorities…

Leather x Feminine

LEATHER JACKET: (c/o) Bernardo Fashions

BLOUSE, JEANS, SLINGBACKS, CLUTCH, EARRINGS: click pink links for more!

As a blogger, I work really hard at cultivating relationships with brands that not only make sense for me and my style but that I also adore. Yes, this means I grow slower and turn down a lot of projects but at least I stay true to myself and never compromise!

Over the years, I’ve worked with Bernardo (click here and here to see – I can’t believe how much my style has changed over the years!). I continue to work with them because I love wearing their outerwear, particularly their leather jackets. I also love their price points and above all, the craftsmanship that goes into each one of their products. So if you’re in the market for a leather jacket this fall – like this black leather jacket – continue reading this post…

Sweet Sweater

SWEATER: (c/o) Sezane/SKIRT: more options here/HEELS: (c/o) Saks OFF 5th – more options here/EARRINGS: Hermes (c/o) Switch/NECKLACE: (c/o) BaubleBar

Lately, I’ve been pretending it’s 50 degrees in South Florida when it’s really closer to 90 degrees with 100 percent humidity. I wake up in the morning, look at my closest, and instinctually grab a cute sweater before realizing how hot it still is. But I can’t help it! I’ve fallen in love with fall. And have been obsessed with chunky sweaters, leather jackets and miniskirts, blazers, turtlenecks, plaid, the works.
