Good Skin is (always) In

After some recent travels followed by a surge of higher temperatures, humidity and a new season, it’s safe to say my skincare routine is in need of a spring cleaning! Everyone has one; and we all like to choose what we get to use each day (as seen in my previous blog post). But every now and then, I must say, a routine needs some refreshing to counter each season’s unique factors.

Lately, I’ve been distracted by the clouds and rain that I haven’t been applying the appropriate amount of sunblock. Being based in South Florida (or anywhere honestly), we all know sunblock is a commitment…even on cloudy days! Solution: I have been on the hunt for an SPF infused foundation that truly matches my skin tone to add to my daily routine. I barely wear a lot of makeup to begin with and when I do, I gravitate towards a fresh, light and minimal look always with a pop of color on the lips (like this new addition).

Since skincare is very personal for me, I did some research and found a classic favorite: Clinique’s Even Better Makeup SPF 15. Clinique is such an incredible OG brand and its products have stood the test of time! When I was reminded of this, my Little Brown Bloomies Bag filled up quickly, but hey…investing in skincare is the best care! I love how the foundation feels on my skin: light, natural and blends evenly. Not only did I notice it improved the unevenness of my skin, but the Vitamin C and antioxidants continue to diminish the dark spots, acne scars and age spots.

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, “More than 90 percent of the visible skin changes associated with aging are caused by the sun’s ultraviolet rays.” Knowing this, I feel comfortable the SPF 15 will protect me from Florida’s sunshine, aging and any skin discoloration that I currently have. Clinique’s Even Better Makeup is also non-streaking and water resistant. So, there’s no white tinting, residue and it does not feel like I just left the pool! It feels like a normal foundation, but lighter.

So lately, it’s ice cubes to my face each morning, sipping on lemon water (then coffee), a little moisturizer (and facial massage) plus Clinique’s Even Better Makeup SPF 15. Sure, it’s a hefty commitment in the AM, but I believe when you put in the extra work you really do see incredible results. Starting sooner than later and investing in good products is always best in my book, no matter how long the process takes.
