Indian Diaries Pt. 2

(continued from Indian Diaries Pt. 1…)

I arrived to Jaipur one part sad, one part happy. I was sad because I didn’t want to leave Udaipur. However, happy to explore Jaipur – the famous “Pink City” of India.

Our driver, Dev, met us at the Jaipur airport and didn’t say much. He just grabbed our luggage and threw it on the roof of his car (without ties, mind you). “Are you sure our luggage is safe up there,” we asked. “Yes, of course…” Four hundred speedbumps later, a few prayers and a bout of nausea – we made it safely to our new hotel. Yes, it paled in comparison to the unreal Taj Lake Palace (then again, most hotels will do that from now on) but still managed to be a cute, charming and a very suitable option for India. It was called Alsisar Haveli

Alright, Alright, All-White

SWEATER, PANTS, SANDALS, EARRINGS, SUNGLASSES: (c/o) Ann Taylor

I’m back. From jet lag that is.

Last week, I mentioned in “Indian Diaries Pt. 1” how going to India was not only spur of the moment but a huge investment for me. (Quite frankly, all my trips are a huge investment for me!) But if there’s one thing I’ve figured out it’s this: you can’t put a price tag on memories. I’ll dive deeper into this subject + more from my trip to India later so please hang tight! In the meantime, leave your questions in the comment section and I’ll try to answer them in Pt. 2.

So today I’m taking a quick break from India content to share this outfit from Ann Taylor. Sure, it’s another all-white ensemble but I figured with Memorial Day right around the corner, that you would appreciate it!

Indian Diaries: Pt. 1

I’ll admit it. When Chelsae Anne (my photographer) asked me to join her + her crew in India during their month-long journey throughout Asia, I said “Chels, you’re crazy…” Only to take a step back and realize this was an opportunity of lifetime. Exhausted from traveling nearly every week the past two months, I put on my big girl pants, called my travel agent while I was in Mexico with my boyfriend and said, “book the ticket.” I didn’t check my bank account. I didn’t think twice about flying halfway across the world by myself. I simply thought, “go.” So, I sourced outfits for what would be one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever shot at and a week later, found myself en-route to mystical India…

PAPERBAG PANTS: similar here, here and here/SCARF: old/BEACH BAG: Free People, similar here/SANDALS: more options below!/EARRINGS: vintage Valentino

Was it a week ago? Two weeks ago? One month ago? I don’t know, can’t remember. Time seems like a blur lately (but in a good way) so please excuse me for not knowing!

As I slipped into my bathing suit in Cartagena, I realized I didn’t bring a cover-up with me so I grabbed a midi skirt and ran downstairs to meet Chelsea, my photographer, for breakfast and a quick photoshoot. Only to realize that my outfit was pretty cute! “Who would have thought a bathing suit could double as a top?” I thought. Chelsea encouraged me to shoot the swimsuit (with the midi skirt). The pictures came out great! I loved it so much, I decided to post it to IG and the response was fantastic.

Which left me dreaming up the many possibilities of swimsuits…

Le sigh… one of the most beautiful spots I found at GoldenEye in Jamaica was this rooftop ledge overlooking the mountains. In the early morning, mist would rise to the top, birds would sing while ocean waves would gently kiss the coastline. Sunrises are my favorite time of the day and I promise you they’re even better in Jamaica! If only I could travel back in time and go back to this very spot – with a cup of fresh Jamaican coffee. Today I’m unpacking, doing laundry and re-packing (yes, re-packing) my very tired suitcase in a pair of leggings that haven’t seen a gym in years and a college t-shirt – with a cup of bland coffee…

So Beachy Mon

BIKINI TOP, BIKINI BOTTOMS (sold out): (c/o) Vitamin A, in partnership with Zappos

Hey Mon!

I was in Jamaica, in case you didn’t notice, staying at the most insane luxury eco-resort called GoldenEye. Yes, the same GoldenEye as the James Bond movie.  Ian Fleming, author behind all the James Bond novels, famously used this place as his retreat. Today it’s a hub for writers, artists, creatives or anyone seeking R&R. Safe to say, I was officially on Jamaican time, and although a struggle at first (to be 5 minutes late to everything, that is) I fully adopted to the amazing mindset of, “relax… everything little thing will be alright” by the end of my time there.

In Your (Pant) Dreams

TOP, CROP PANTS, CARGO PANTS, SANDALS, SCARF (more options here), STRAW BAG: (c/o) Ann Taylor

You ask, you receive!

One of my most commonly asked question is about… drumroll: PANTS!

Don’t ask me why but I get so many questions about where I buy my pants but I do. All the time. Understandably so, right? I mean, pants are comfy. They can trick people into thinking you’re tall. They’re super easy to style. I get it. So that’s why I’ve dedicated today’s post to… drumroll: PANTS!

A Bathing Suit Beauty

WEARING: L*SPACE bikini top, bikini bottom (Sponsored by Zappos)

Earth to Stephanie!

I just got back from Casa Pombo in beautiful Cartagena, Colombia… Although old and historic, I fell in love with the hotel’s character and charm. Between spiral staircases, tiny doors fit for a hobbit and the little ledge I had to jump over to get to my room every night (sans heels), I feel grateful to call this “work.”
