Let’s face it, this holiday season looks a lot different than the previous, which in turn gives us more of a reason to celebrate our dearest friends and family. Since we’ve all mastered the art of #WFH, what do you get that friend or family member(s) who identifies as a ‘homebody’ (aka has a newfound love for home decor or enjoys being home after 2020)? As a relatively new homeowner (and one who’s had to get creative) — I’ve been scouring the web researching, shopping around and adding to my wish list. I’ve had my eye on some items that will definitely bring a level of comfort, cozy and spark of inspiration to make their house (or apartment!) feel more like home. Big or small, I’ve included my personal favorites and thoughtful picks I think they’ll love to unwrap this year. Here’s the list! – Ornament For the friend who absolutely loves decorating their home during the holidays — this beautiful “Breakfast” from House & Parties glass ornament is a little less traditional than most ornaments, but one I feel is worth collecting (and passing down). Petite Cocotte When you’re not using this to actually serve mac and cheese or your favorite homemade soup to the family, this oven-to-table petite cocotte is a great decorative piece for your kitchen. Floral Classes Source: @createacademyofficial, Instagram Remember when I shared about florals naturally brightening up a space and mood (see here)? I decided to take Willow Crossley’s Master Class to learn even more about floristry. From the essentials to effective ways to condition, these aspects all require time and patience — but at the end of it, you and your home will love the blooms! Ralph’s Espresso The best way to start to the day: coffee. I can’t get enough of this blend by Ralph Lauren — creamy and fruity — reminds me of the Italian espressos I’d have every morning in Italy. Espresso Cup These might be the most gorgeous espresso cups by The Avenue (handmade in Italy) to pair it with. It’s mini blush hue brings such a nice pop of color! Cocktail Napkins Nothing feels more elegant than serving cocktails with these Afternoon Tea Cocktail Napkins. Cheerful and understated, the garden flower embroidery with scalloped details adds the right touch of vintage to the table (or these ones for a backyard brunch). Garden Book With fascinating stories and signature recipes from the kitchen gardens across the world — not only does it offer innovative recipes (from plant to plate!), but a whole visual inspiration. When the book is not being used, add it to your coffee table to spruce things up! Candle A candle is a classic — especially the Tuberose le Jour Aerin candle. Scents of Neroli, orange flower, Jasmine and the smooth woodiness of Cashmeran and Cedarwood, will make any space feel fresh and clean; also the vessel can be reused as a decor piece for your shelf or dresser. Porcelain Flower Add this beautifully-crafted Dahlia bloom by Aerin for timeless texture to your vanity or tabletop! Teapot To the tea lover, this floral teapot is a wonderful addition. Add this five-piece teacup set — and turn tea for one into an intimate occasion with close friends! Stationery For the friend or family member who treasures beautiful, original stationery — they will love Ashley D. Studio’s designs! I adore this one, because I’m able to mix and match three different cards and custom envelope liners that play off the greenery and pastel pinks of Palm Beach. Palm Beach Book As you know, books can be charming accessories for your coffee table (click here for blog post) or provide a cozy reading session. This Palm Beach book by Assouline is no exception! Each page illuminates with breathtaking, iconic places that identify with Palm Beach through the eyes of longtime resident, Aerin Lauder. Linen Coaster Meet the embroidered linen coasters by Los Encajeros — the perfect bit of shape and color to compliment your glassware collection. Easier to store and clean than hard coasters, they’re bound to enhance your tabletop! Velvet Jewelry Box Because every fine piece of jewelry deserves a cute jewelry box, this pastel pink one is the perfect choice. Napkin Rings If you know me, then you also know my love for rattan, which is why these orchid rattan napkin rings from The Avenue is a quintessential piece. Add this to any brunch or dinner tablescape to transform it into a more thoughtful occasion. Wicker Pitcher Add some sliced fruit and chilled water and you’re ready to make hydrating look beautiful — thanks to this wicker pitcher. Candle Holder Since it’s officially cozy candle season, and if you’re like me living in South Florida (or anywhere warm and tropical!), this Palm Tree Candle Holder strikes the balance no matter what the season. Coco Chanel: The Legend and Life Fascinating, intriguing and notoriously guarded — is my favorite Chanel book of all time. Palm Beach Playing Cards Once in awhile you find yourself searching for a deck of playing cards – a classic, sophisticated one. Consider this beautiful deck by LouLou Baker; lined with pink, white stripes and green palm fronds it’s completely emblematic of Palm Beach. Shell Vase Shells are never a bad idea — especially when they’re also a sculptural piece inspired by a scallop shell. A gift like the Amelia shell vase will add a bit of coastal style to any home. Nespresso Leave it to Nespresso to be one the my most-wanted items on my family’s wishlist — I don’t blame them. Maybe I’m biased (by far my favorite machine) but it’s the absolute best! Anytime I need to start the day with a cup or a pick-me-up, it’s the easiest, sustainable and most delicious way I’ve been preparing my coffee(s). Soap Set Rather than any ordinary soap set — gift the right kind for current and future pampering. It’s a gift box with three bar soaps, which includes scents that range from pear to lavender she’ll love! Dinner Set Is it just me or is Matilda Goad’s dinner set the epitome of refinement for everyday living? I can’t wait to add this to our dinners out on the patio! Bluelight Glasses Let’s be honest: we all look at our screen a bajillion times throughout the day and night. So if you haven’t yet, it’s time to get a great (stylish) pair of bluelight glasses ones your friend will want to wear all day long. In an uncertain year, no matter what you choose to gift for your friend or family member who appreciates all things home-related, remember it’s the thought that continues to count — and perhaps, coupled with a handwritten note, too.
