Keeping this one short and sweet – hopefully like your week before the Fourth of July weekend! For me, I’m packing for a quick trip to romantic Merida (the first place Pete and I traveled to as a couple – see our memories here). It’s definitely an exciting new season for us and since we both have the “time off,” we thought why not head out to our special getaway spot…and possibly discover a wedding venue? I know things are still up in the air, but we’re having fun exploring the options! So while I’m gone, I’ll leave you with the second part of my accessory wish list, all of which is under $500 and personally worth adding to a timeless collection (and some I’ve added to my wedding capsule). GAS Bijoux Founded on the French Mediterranean Coast in 1969, by André Gas, is the imaginative jewelry label, GAS Bijoux. Moved by his travels to Africa and his own artistic vision, he discovered immediate success on the beaches and shops of Saint-Tropez. I love how Gas beautifully passed down his passion to his two kids where the colorful and radiant designs continue to reflect his original vision. I have admired how the Colombian designer Paula Mendoza (New York based), now the Creative Director, infuses the circle in each collection, which has been brought to life by local Colombian artisans. It’s meant to represent cause and effect, the shape of femininity while being physically and economically sustainable. I find it amazing the story the design tells through the re-imagined historical pieces and its contemporary touch! Turn on your JavaScript to view content Oscar de la Renta My forever favorite…to say the least. Every piece from the iconic collection has a sweeping, old-world elegance and incredible detailing. A look the designer’s been known for throughout his career (which started in fashion illustration before his couturier work in the 1960’s). The signature sophistication isn’t the only element that distinguishes Oscar de la Renta’s exquisite design, but the way you feel when wearing his pieces: beautiful and well, the best version of yourself (I know I felt so here!). And through unique form, couture elements and one-of-a-kind textures it’s one step closer to artwork. The design is a testament to how the modern girl explores the world – confidently and making it her own; a catalyst for the unpredictable where serendipity can happen at any moment as it did for me in the Amalfi Coast. Structure and volume are skillfully considered in their jewelry making and range from subtle charm to artful statement. See their latest collection here. Because of her love for jewelry, style and collecting, it led her to create a space that would connect the public with her amazing, curated collections. Did I mention she’s Latina? Xo, Stephanie
Before I read the description on the Cano gold earrings, I was thinking about how they reminded me of the gold pieces I saw in the Museo del Oro in Bogota, Colombia and then I read that they were actually Colombian! I love that you feature the work of so many Colombian artists on your blog. As a Colombian myself, I really love seeing that! <3 Jill https://jilliancecilia.com/ Reply
