Ann Taylor: A Timeless Pair

I recently stumbled onto some of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic, timeless images again a la Pinterest…I’ve always loved her fashion moments (and her movies!). The way she cinched her clothes in the waistline to mirror a ballerina’s wasp-waist, her desaturated tones of pale pinks, burgundies, beige and creams and stunning silhouette she created (that’s stuck with us to this day) – which has very much inspired and shaped my fall wardrobe.

I know I’ve shared it with you a few times, but building a closet full of timeless pieces has become a priority to me. Not only is it better for the planet, but a collection I’ve grown to be proud of because I know it will last over the years. How am I doing so with fall around the corner? I include staple pieces that I know will be re-wearable like this Audrey Pant in vino by Ann Taylor. The brand has re-created the waistline long-inspired by Audrey in a way that is relevant to today’s look and fit – love. As we already know, these will never be dated (thanks Ann Taylor). Plus, I love how fitted and soft the pair is…it’s the perfect transitional piece from summer to fall.

Since, I’m also slightly updating my color palette to pale pinks, burgundy, beige, ivory, gold, etc. (fall tones inspired by colors I already own), I styled the Audrey Pant with a warm blush blouse (I also adore this one and this one). The ease, simplicity and comfort of it just adds so much more to the look…and when temps do drop, I’ll throw on this neutral blazer.

I think there’s something to be said about an “ethos of simplicity” that Audrey always returned back to. She made simple the sophisticated chic. And I admire her vision for recreating one’s look time and time again…complemented by the philosophy of, “What makes you feel the most you?” There’s so much power packed in that.

Forever taking note from her effortlessly chic, timeless spirit… thanks for stopping by today!

Xo, Stephanie
