From wardrobe staples like denim, leopard sneakers, mini-backpacks, and on-trend pieces, Macy’s has something for everyone’s back-to-school checklist. I was thrilled when they asked me to host their Back-to-School event with Teen Vogue. I had a blast putting together 12 head-to-toe looks, working with the models and the Teen Vogue IT Girls, as well as mingling with some of the shoppers… including my friend Jess, blogger behind Beauty Meets Buddha, who decided to pop in and glance at MAC’s newest products for the fall. I also had so much fun jamming out with the DJ, getting my nails and hair done, snapping a quick pic in the photo booth, snacking on yummy treats, and shopping at the BCBG truck show. To recap… This fall, palazzo pants, oversized lace cardigans, cropped tops and printed trousers will continue take center stage. Moto jackets and washed-out skinny jeans will also be must-haves. Let’s not forget about boyfriend blazers, baby doll dresses, flouncy skirts and shorts – all of which, are so hot this season. I’m also a tad obsessed with lace-up sandals (check out this multi-colored pair from Steve Madden), wedges, slip on sneakers, studded flats, and pointed toe ballet flats (like, this pair from Steve Madden). For accessories, it continues to be all about gold jewelry, bold statement necklaces and dainty rings and for wardrobe staples, it’s all about mini-backpacks (love with this one).
