Breath of Fresh Air

DRESS: here/SANDALS: love these!/BAG: affordable options here and here/EARRINGS: similar here, here and here

I can’t tell you how refreshing it feels to stay in one spot for more than two weeks at a time! I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with my boyfriend, get (somewhat) organized again and mentally decompress from packing – unpacking – packing – unpacking. Although I’m leaving again this week for another destination, it won’t be far from home. Just three hours south! Yep, you guessed it. I’m headed to the Keys…

I personally like planning my outfits in advance before I travel – anywhere. This not only helps me stay organized but also determine how much clothing I need to make endless outfit combinations. Lately, most places I travel to are hot and humid so I prefer linen. Linen is absorbent, breathable and stronger than cotton. It’s also great for keeping you cool in the summer but warm in the winter.

Downside? It wrinkles easily so don’t choose pieces that are tight-fitting like pencil skirts and dresses. Unless you bring a travel steamer with you (recommended) or wrinkle spray.

So, where do you find linen clothing?

Right now, I’m loving Marks & Spencer! They’re a brand based out of London with some cute pieces that are affordable and cute! I really love this dress (pictured). I’ve also purchased linen button downs, these pants, this dress and this top from their latest collection!

I also suggest a large straw tote (which doubles as a beach tote and carryon tote) when traveling. I love this one and this one from Marks and Spencer. Sandals are versatile too so check out this pair. All in all, great accessories for traveling and the summer!

Until this Wednesday, you can take 20% off your entire purchase at Marks and Spencer. So definitely peruse the site to take full advantage of the sale before it’s too late!
