We’re back with the third edition of the Emerging Latin Designers I Love series! Tapping into some designers you’ve seen me wear quite a bit and ones I’ve been dying to purchase from (if only you could see my wish list!). Your responses to the last post were so sweet that I couldn’t wait to share my five new designers I hand-selected for you today! Savoring each moment, detail and design and hoping you do as well. Dress: (c/o) Rebecca Taylor Sandals: By Far Earrings: (c/o) Liza Echeverry (more here) Bag: Sézane Liza Echeverry I love her story. Originally from Colombia, Liza Echeverry was born into a family of generations of goldsmiths, but never considered jewelry making for herself. Then after some years, fate intervened. Now, her jewelry brand is widely known across Latin America – each piece handmade in bronze, plated in 24k Colombian gold, and nickel-free by artisans who carefully translate her dreamy sketches into wearable pieces of art. Loved my statement pair I wore this month here and here. Her artistic collection and how it encapsulates the true spirit of a woman is inspiring! Silvia Tcherassi Although, not so new in my book, Silvia Tcherassi will forever be an all-time favorite of mine so I had to include her in the series! Also from Colombia, she is one of the most celebrated Latin American designers with a family-run label based in Baranquilla. She sources only the finest Italian materials to create beautiful Colombian-inspired collections (that I’m always in awe of!). And as you know, I can’t get enough of her signature silhouettes and Latina flair (see my recent trip to Bermuda). Hunting Season Confession: I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on one of their luxury handbags (soon)! Hunting Season was established by Danielle Corona who has such a clear aesthetic and uncompromising sense of style. Each handbag has a timeless sensibility, and is made from high-quality leather with handcrafted Italian hardware – all of which is proudly made by hand in Colombia. And the versatility of each bag is wonderful because I can wear it as an everyday addition or for a special occasion. It’s nice to have the option! Sandra Weil Another incredible Latin American designer that’s been on my radar for quite some time! As you may have realized my affinity for Mexico (we’re getting married there!), I’ve naturally become more and more drawn to Sandra Weil’s intricate and transformative designs (for bride, couture and ready-to-wear). Her feminine silhouette and structure that’s accentuated by colorful elements of the beautiful town of Mexico City are so easy to love. Each piece is designed with flexibility and fit in mind creating a sophisticated collection with a fun twist. Andrés Otálora Colombian designer, Andrés Otálora is known for his feminine aesthetic with translucent flowy fabric and floral design (swooning!). He draws inspiration from different cities around the world. And in his most recent collection, the sophisticated spirit from the South of France is seen throughout with a variety of statement cuts, flamenco-inspired silhouettes and pleats. Yet every collection always resembles romance, elegance and charm…with a hint of contemporary. Xo, Stephanie
I absolutely love that you share latin designers! The pieces they create are so unique and beautiful. I love the dress you’re wearing! It’s flowy and fun, while remaining classy at the same time. Love it! Jill https://jilliancecilia.com/ Reply
