As you read earlier in my previous blog post here, I have been taking a break from the travels to invest in one of my biggest projects yet, redesigning my newly moved into 1920s historical apartment. It’s coming along beautifully (I am excited to share the different moments and process of it all, but I just have a couple more things to tackle so please stay tuned). In the meantime, I’m itching – ok, more like realizing… it’s time to travel again. Sigh. Oh, how I’ve missed the adventure! Travel is good for a lot of things, but inspiration comes to mind immediately. Every time I travel, I always feel encouraged, more thankful and return even happier. I believe travel is a ticket to breaking routine with a gift of new memories and outlook on life. Plus, I will even say travel may just be the antidote to some of our fears. Why? You realize how big the world is and how we share similar hopes and dreams with others in different places that the fear seems to decrease and disappear. Nonetheless, travel has always been a pretty significant part in my book (my dad is a pilot so growing up we would travel a lot). As I start planning, I can’t help but think of: locations, hotels, outfits, accessories and that perfect everyday bag that will go with a variety of outfits. As you all know, I’ve nailed at least one location already: the Amalfi Coast with my boyfriend. We’re staying at the most magical hotel (it’s been on my bucket list for awhile) and planning to spend 80% of the time vacationing; 20% working. (As much as I’d love to unplug, I have a feeling that will be difficult). My boyfriend works a traditional 9 to 5 so when he gets time off to spend it with me, I get really excited because he truly is my favorite travel partner! We both share a love for adventure together. I’m headed to Charleston in April (never been) + considering a quick trip over Easter weekend (any suggestions?) to some place magical yet close to Florida. While I’m not living the “jetset” life I did last year, I’m grateful to strike a balance between the two – experiencing a taste of travel here and there while nourishing the most important aspects of my life: my relationships, my little apartment and overall well being. Of course I am working on the outfits and accessories still (if only money was no object)… but have already found the bag! Because I loved how versatile and stylish my other Brahmin handbag (which I also own in white) was… I plan to bring another one with me! Same color, different shape. Meet Pipp – *sigh, that whiskey brown color truly struck a chord in me and works so well with a multitude of outfits and destinations. (Versatility is key when packing.) And that shape! Love. It still maintains a vintage touch with that signature tab lock and an interior mirror to ensure any little touch-up during my travels is a breeze.
