[Thank you River Island for sponsoring today’s post!]

I’ve said it for years. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on clothing to look chic. What matters is how well you take care of your clothing and how long you hold onto them. In the past decade, fast fashion has exploded and I know it comes with preconceived notions (especially if you’re a millennial reading this) but if shopped right, fast fashion can be an asset to your wardrobe and a way for you to express yourself or try something new. I use fast fashion for basics, but I also love it when I go through phases (like I am currently) or when I need to be frugal with my expenses.

I don’t know if it’s the haircut or what but I’ve been in a real 60s mood as of late, and I can’t tell if this is a phase or something more permanent. Every couple of years, I go through a transformation and add a handful of trendy items to my existing wardrobe to spruce it up. A few years ago, it was all things ruffles and color. Prior to that, lots of retro. Not much changed! Mod style feels fresh, simple (think: lots of clean lines and body hugging dresses), relevant (hello, Euphoria!) and easy to wear in South Florida (especially Palm Beach).

I turned to River Island for today’s four affordable dresses for spring. I accessorized each look with a few pieces to keep the emphasis on the clothing (I’m also not someone who likes over-the-top looks for everyday style). Each piece I’m wearing is under $200 (if not less than $100) and very easy to wear. You don’t need much!

One last note because I get this question often. Sizing! River Island fits my petite frame really well. As in, no alterations were needed – and that’s rare.

Can you guess which look was my favorite?
