Was it a week ago? Two weeks ago? One month ago? I don’t know, can’t remember. Time seems like a blur lately (but in a good way) so please excuse me for not knowing!

As I slipped into my bathing suit in Cartagena, I realized I didn’t bring a cover-up with me so I grabbed a midi skirt and ran downstairs to meet Chelsea, my photographer, for breakfast and a quick photoshoot. Only to realize that my outfit was pretty cute! “Who would have thought a bathing suit could double as a top?” I thought. Chelsea encouraged me to shoot the swimsuit (with the midi skirt). The pictures came out great! I loved it so much, I decided to post it to IG and the response was fantastic.

Which left me dreaming up the many possibilities of swimsuits…

Considering it’s pretty hot in South Florida, it’s not uncommon to “live” in a bathing suit all day, as cliché and stereotypical as that sounds. Especially on the weekends where days start early at the beach then to the Colony Hotel for poolside lunch (pictured) and end riding around the island on a beach cruiser. You definitely need an outfit that’s versatile; one that can take you anywhere… and as much as I love denim shorts and a bikini top, I’m little over it. I wanted something chic.

So this, coupled with my ahh-ha moment in Cartagena, I decided now would be the perfect time to share this look… and start experimenting with swimsuits!

I started with this one-piece from La Blanca via Bloomingdale’s. What I liked the most about it was how the fabric gathered around the center which disguised problem areas and gave me a flattering hourglass shape! I also liked how this one-piece had built in cups for support and an optional strap to hold up the suit.

When paired with paperbag pants and cute sandals, this one-piece looks like a strapless top. Without pants, it doubles as a chic and classic suit. Bing, bang, boom, done. That’s how you do versatility in Palm Beach.

For those wondering, this was shot at the Colony Hotel, one of Palm Beach’s historic hotels. Previous guests include the Duke of Windsor, many celebrities and some of my favorite bloggers! It’s charming and quaint. Walking distance to Worth Avenue and the beach. They have a fantastic brunch with bottomless mimosas at the Polo Lounge and play host to many locals on the weekends. It’s a lovely scene…

And the perfect backdrop for this week’s content! Stay tuned for more… and of course, shop today’s outfit from La Blanca below!

P.S. As I sit here typing this, I am at a hotel in NEW DEHLI sipping coffee waiting for my friends to wake up. Our next flight leaves in a few hours… despite taking a 16-hour flight, sleeping a few hours last night, I feel so alive. Please stay tuned for what will hopefully be one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever experienced… I can’t wait to share!
