I know I do! With a plain t-shirt tucked in. With a silk blouse. With a leather jacket. With a bikini and oversized hat. With like… everything in my closet! Midi skirts are perfect for spring and summertime. It’s one the few styles you can pull off wearing a revealing crop top with while still looking conservative. It’s also very flattering! A cinched in waist and full skirt can do wonders when hiding areas like hips and thighs. Styling a midi, however, can be a different story. It’s easy to mess up. Trust me! I’ve definitely done it. So before you whip out that CC and buy a totes adorbs midi skirt (this one is from H&M by the way), check out these five midi rules: Choose a high waisted midi If you know me, you know I like a high waist. Why? Because it helps to draw the eye up and elongate my look. This one, from H&M, sits right above my belly button. Teamed with an eyelet shirt, like this top from Marshalls, it looks super chic for the summer. Unfortunately, this one is not online. Click here to browse more midi styles from H&M. For height, wear a heel Personally, I think you should wear heels ALL the time but that’s me! I’m also 5’2. Honestly though – considering the length of a midi skirt is longer than usual, I think it’s best to wear heels with it. Doing so will give you a nice long, lean look! Find one made out of a cool fabric Inject some personality into your wardrobe with a midi in a funky print or with one that’s made out of a cool fabric, like denim! #lovethe90s Be flirty For a sexy, but put together look this summer, try wearing a crop top with a leather jacket instead of tucking in a silk blouse. Details matter! Tie it all together with cool accents like aviator sunnies or a structured bag! Ok, noooow you can whip out your credit card!
