Heavy in rotation for the past few years since starting my blog, midi skirts have become one of my all-time favorite closet staples. I have like ten. Maybe twenty? #ThisIsANoJudgementZone They’re fresh and feminine. Demure and proper. And like a hunter in the wild, I can spot them a mile away at department stores, just like I did with this designer version from ALC. #attack

Sewn from crisply pleated rose-gold satin, this midi skirt feels elegant, has a side-slit (in case you feel like showing some leg) that’s sure to be your new favorite work-to-weekend essential. Wear it with a white button-down (and cue Carolina Hererra!), a low-key tee or a cashmere sweater (yes, I realize it’s a million degrees outside but one can prepare for fall!).

To let the skirt speak for itself, I toned down my look with a pair of sweet Gucci sandals (yes, you can wear this pair for long hours – they’re surprisingly comfortable) and… pauses… the most gorgeous studded Gucci bag to give a downtown feel to my look (that’s also worthy of Palm Beach, of course). Ok, so maybe I didn’t exactly “tone down” this look with my accessories but hey, at least I kept the focus on the skirt!

Someone recently asked me how I would describe my style. Of which, I replied with a ridiculously long explanation of how it changes depending on my mood, where I’m traveling to, my friends, what music I’m listening to and so on.  (I personally think it’s evolving… and that’s important but we’ll save that topic for another day!) As I was explaining this, I realized one thing holds true among all those factors – that I love, love, love to keep it feminine. And wear ladylike pieces. I guess it’s because I enjoy being a woman. #ModernDayFeminist Celebrating femininity and owning that.

But I digress. (What else is new?!)
