I love handbags. It’s one accessory (aside from my earrings and engagement ring!) that I never leave home without. And to think this very thing I use daily was once a foreign concept to women. I didn’t realize it, but it wasn’t until after the 1920s (yes, post First World War) when handbags came into the picture – symbolic of women’s independence and status. So for the first time we had our own properties (keys to a car, money, etc.) and could carry it in a fashionable bag instead of a hidden pocket underneath big skirts. Since then, handbags have grown in number, sizes, colors and design…as well as taking up a significant amount of space in my closet (guilty, but completely okay with it!). I think it’s important to invest in a worthwhile collection and especially one I can carry into any season. That’s why I was so excited to work with Brahmin, a beautiful luxury handbag line. It’s been nearly half a year now and I can honestly say it’s become a brand I know and love! The integrity at the start of every design, combined with detailed decision-making, is followed through to fruition. I respect their commitment to creating handcrafted products that stand the test of time while also looking the part. This is super important to me because it’s so aligned with my beliefs (which is something I always ensure before partnering with any brand!). I love a timeless, versatile luxe design…and the affordable luxury part is a plus. To be honest, I have over 10 Brahmin bags in my closet right now, but my top 5 (hard to choose!) would have to be the Margo, Lane, Pipp, Evie and Reese – see below for all of them under $400! Handbags aren’t just a useful, fashionable item to keep my phone, small wallet, red lipstick and keys, but another way of sharing my individual style and making an outfit even more chic. Like this pink pair of shorts I’ve had tucked away in my closet for the longest time, after spotting the Small Bowie, I knew exactly how I’d style them. The texture, print and color of the bag adds a nice balance to this entire summer look…now off I go to packing and mailing things out before my next tropical trip this weekend! That bag is beautiful you’re wearing is beautiful! The fact that you have 5 Brahmin bags in rotation says something! http://www.rdsobsessions.com Reply
