Sleepwear? I’m a fan. During the day? Even better. I know what you’re thinking… isn’t it just meant for home? At some point it was. Now it’s become a fashion-girls favorite again. Coco Chanel was often photographed in classic pajamas, accessorized in her signature pearls and timeless elegance. She aimed to combine sophistication and comfort with ease and did so perfectly through her pajama design (thus making it socially acceptable!). Did you know in 1931, Vogue advertised pajamas as “suits for the beach?” The trend isn’t a new one, but rather the discovery of your own personal style of it. My thoughts? Coordinate the traditional two pieces differently, rock a statement pajama pant with a solid loose-fitted pajama top and don’t shy away from bold prints. I’ve noticed all pajama looks need height to complete it so I’ll often opt for a higher waistline (shoutout to my tailor Maria at Aphrodite Designs in West Palm Beach!) and definitely add heels. My rule of thumb for this trend is silk over cotton. It always gives a more polished and elevated look in my book. Plus, if you’re anything like me when it comes to jewelry…you won’t want to forget them! I never leave the house without my earrings on. I like to think of it as comfy, chic – while being so loungy and stylish. When it’s done right you (and others) will love running from the bed to errands to meetings to Netflix, in style.
