Although New York Fashion Week has come and gone, the trends seen on the runways (for the Fall/Winter 2019 to come) have delivered some fashion moment(s) I’d like to start unpacking now! From Carolina Herrera’s inspiring color mixes to the fearless proportions and sculptural volumes executed by Marc Jacobs, it’s safe to say this next season has shifted from the pervading athleisure movement to a more refined and romantic touch. #swoons And on that note, I’m sharing my 5 favorite, significant trends to keep an eye on: 1. Belt it Come fall (or now), I’ll definitely let it go to (the) waist. From belted suits and coats to more – the idea is breaking up the traditional layered fall wardrobe by accentuating the waist as seen by Tibi and Gabriela Hearst. Polished and the perfect accessory for any look during the day…or night. 2. Volume Think: the Renaissance woman. Puffy silhouettes, big shoulders, fitted tops and romantic detailing weren’t just seen by Marc Jacobs, Brock Collection and Brandon Maxwell but reinvented – something I like to consider modern royalty for fall. 3. Color Mix There’s always fun to be had when it involves color mixing and there was no shortage of it on the runway. From beautiful signature blends as seen by Carolina Herrera to colorful hued tulle by newcomer Tomo Koizumi and monochrome packed moments by Zimmermann – create quite the powerful color statement! 4. Timeless Tailoring …is always welcomed! And Oscar de la Renta consistently delivers it. The suits and gowns were sleek, polished and relevant while maintaining a timeless touch aka a dream. Already drawing inspiration for my next shoot! 5. Young Designers Emerging young designers with their fearless approach, embrace inclusivity, diversity, their friends and celebrate individual expression…I am here for it! And Christian Siriano takes us there. His vision of the future was seen through an experiential show, which revealed some of the most-forward looking and statement-making pieces. I love Brandon Maxwell. I started following his work after the dresses he made for Karlie Kloss for the met galas. Love this post! Reply
