[Chelsae Anne | Photography] Almost every weekend, I go shopping or window-shopping. I know, I know… I’m a total #shopaholic. But to me, it’s more than just a hobby. It’s my job! One of the coolest things about being a fashion blogger is that I get to immerse myself in fashion. I do this by regularly visiting department and clothing stores to check out the latest trends. If I find something I love, I grab it! If not, I make a mental note of what’s trending and keep browsing. Earlier this week, I hung out at Aventura Mall to scope out pre-fall trends. I love this mall. Not because it’s a haven for some of the best boutiques in the area, but because it’s one of the best malls in all of South Florida. From getting my makeup done at MAC Cosmetics to trying on gowns at Pucci to snagging candy at Sugarfina, I had a blast. It was the perfect shopping trip! On that note… My first stop was at MAC Cosmetics to get my makeup done. They dusted on “Studio Fix Powder,” with some eye shadow from their “Fashion Pack Eye shadow” palette and topped it off with “Instacurl Lash” mascara. My lip color is “Rich and Restless Liquid Lipcolour” mixed with “Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipglass.” TREND ALERT: A coral lip. Coral suits many skin tones (including mine with or without a tan!) and complements many looks. It’s hands down one of my favorite lip colors to wear. It’s also fresh and perfect for Florida. Summertime brings some serious heat to South Florida. During this time of year, I like to wear fabrics that allow for more airflow and coolness. All of 120% Lino’s garments are crafted out of linen that’s breathable , durable, easy to wash and soft to the touch. They’re the perfect pieces for summer! The kind of pieces you can throw in your suitcase and pull out the second you touch down in Italy. TREND ALERT: This adorable white linen dress from their latest collection! I loved it. It’s understated yet luxurious. It’s the kind of piece you can wear to a pool party with a colorful scarf from Hermès or to a chic night out in Miami. In an effort to maintain exclusivity, 120% Lino does not have an online store. You have to visit one of their boutiques to see the collection. Fortunately, there’s one at Aventura Mall! For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been a big fan of Missoni’s iconic zigzag motifs, geometric patterns and fun stripes. It’s also one of the most respected and loved fashion brands in the world. I browsed the latest M Missoni collection of dresses, tops, pants, skirts and gowns. TREND ALERT: As Vogue contributor Emily Farra put it, “Leave it to M Missoni to find inspiration in the least-likely sport of all: bowling.” From leather bowling bags to easy shirts to comfy sneakers (as pictured, without the socks), M Missoni rocked this theme! It felt retro. It was charming. And shiny! Literally. One of my favorite pieces, this knit sweater, had a hint of sparkle. Something that carried throughout the rest of the collection. My next stop was to Emilio Pucci. Another longtime favorite and cult classic for Palm Beachers. I combed through the Fall-Winter 2016-2017 collection; a collection that’s lean, layered and slouchy. It’s graphic and effortless. There’s embroidery, feathers and geometric sequences everywhere. And I’m in heaven… TREND ALERT: Coral. Enough said. #dying #literallydying What’s a shopping trip without visiting BCBGMAXAZRIA?! With the French adage, “Bon chic, bon genre” (“Good style, good attitude”) behind its iconic name, BCBG clothing evokes both a European feel and sophistication with an American spirit. Fun fact: I worked at BCBG while I was in college, but had to quit because I couldn’t afford spending my entire paycheck on clothing every two weeks. #shopaholicprobs TREND ALERT: When shopping and spotting trends, I tend to gravitate towards pieces that are staples like jeans, jackets, shoes, bags, etc. This studded jacket from their Runway Collection is a great piece for fall. Wear it with metallic shorts (as pictured) and lace (another pre-fall trend) or with a white tee and distressed black jeans. To me, lace makes layering interesting. It’s also very sexy! How great is this black lace romper? Throw on a jacket or wear it with sandals. Another great transition piece for fall. My second to last stop was to the new adidas by Stella McCartney store to pick out some new fitness gear. I found these lightweight metallic shorts and paired them with a sweater that could easily be worn on the weekends with sneakers. TREND ALERT: Cute workout gear! What you wear to the gym sets your mood. And if you’re anything like me, a bad outfit can ruin your day – so be sure to choose wear something you like and that makes you look/feel good to the gym… I.E. check out this store! Last but not least, candy! Sugarfina, a luxury candy boutique, for a quick pick-me-up. The idea for Sugarfina was sprouted after the founders went on their third date to see the movie, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A simple question, “why should kids have all the fun?” led them to create a candy boutique for grown-ups. Which eventually led them to their dream job (taste-testing candy all over the world) to bring you the finest sweets ever! Each package is literally packaged with love. The founders are still together. Yes, #relationshipgoals. TREND ALERT: How many times can you give a hostess a candle or bottle of wine?! After awhile, it gets old. So switch things up this fall with a bento box of candy! You can pick and choose which flavors you want. From champagne gummy bears (my favorite) to maple bourbon caramels, there’s a ton to choose from! And for the single ladies out there who need a little pick-me-up, try this one… Everything in this post can be purchased at Aventura Mall so be sure to check it out or follow their blog, “Styled” for more trends and updates!
