[Chelsae Anne | Photography] DRESS: (c/o) Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton/SHOES: Steve Madden/BAG: (c/o) Jennifer Haley/BRACELETS: H&M/HAT: H&M Tularosa is a small village in New Mexico. It’s also the name of one of my favorite new LA-based labels, a sister line of the contemporary fashion label (and another fave) Lovers + Friends. Mega-bloggers like @SincerelyJules and @CollageVintage have been rocking their Cali-inspired designs nonstop lately. And so have I… Combining romantic dresses, textured jackets and embroidered tops, Tularosa’s every detail encapsulates a style that’s effortless and easy. Their collection is inspired by, “beautiful and timeless pieces collected along the way from road trips up the Cali coast to desert adventures and Baja getaways”, according to them. A Tularosa girl wears vibrant colors, loves salty ocean air and warm sunrays. Judging from their collection’s description, I think it’s safe to say that Tularosa definitely aligns with my style… Lately, I’m all about wearing clothing that’s easy to pull off. And pieces that are true to my mood and that suit my body. A true fashionista (believe it or not) never buys clothing at random. She carefully picks her wardrobe based on her identity and how she’s feeling at that moment in time. Sometimes I want to be really casual, kind of beach-y since I live near the ocean. Sometimes I’m inspired by my Latin heritage and feel like wearing bright, bold colors. And sometimes when I travel to big cities like New York City, I feel like wearing darker colors and modern, streamlined pieces to match the location. I love mixing it up. It all depends on what mood I’m in… I don’t like sticking to one style. Changing things can open you up to so many style possibilities. I’m not saying that putting on a Tularosa dress will transform you into @SincerelyJules or @CollageVintage, I’m simply saying that wearing a super cute dress, like this one, can change your attitude that day and help make you feel joyful and carefree… like it did for me! Interesting point about not liking to stick to one style. I think the most accurate thing to say about mine is I just want to dress the way I want feel which TENDS to skew neutral, sleek, simple, and sophisticated. But if I was at the beach, I definitely would be in the mood for something different (probably still primarily neutrals but in different silhouettes)! I would definitely say I don’t like being HELD to one style, that’s for sure. There’s evolving styles as well as experimentation. http://www.dressupchowdown.com Reply
