Reporting live from sunny windy South Florida. Like most South Floridians, I’m stuck at home hunkered down in my little apartment (that’s been through many hurricanes) waiting for this bad boy to arrive later tonight. I’m quite comfortable – snuggled up in an oversized sweater with sweat pants (I’m running my AC all day) watching the news and drinking coffee. I’ve spent the past three days preparing for this storm and hope everyone has taken the proper precautions to stay safe tonight.

With all this time on my hands, I figured I’d share not one – but two looks today on the blog. (And do some closet reorganizing while I’m at it…)

Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward wardrobe essentials that are always in fashion. Things like leather jackets, classic black loafers, button-ups, etc. In other words, classics…

A white button-up is the foundation of any wardrobe – and a style that I already have. Which is why I love this button-up top from J.O.A. – the pattern adds a fun twist! My skort, also from J.O.A., is stylish and very cute. You can treat it like a casual skirt (a “skort” is a cross between a skirt and short) or wear it with tights and ankle booties for a night out with your friends. Both styles run small.

On days when heels aren’t in the cards, a classic pair of black loafers will do. I love this pair (and this pair, too!) from Sole Society because of the pointed toe (helps elongate legs). Since getting them last week, I’ve worn them nonstop with my black skinny jeans and leather jacket!
