It’s that time where the world shines light on the newest, most iconic designs slated to takeover the upcoming season! From streetstyle to runway, and the messages beyond the runway, it’s an artful experience of discovering your individual sense of style…all over.

Meanwhile, I am sitting here scrolling through my phone like…”Hey friends, what’d I miss?” because I couldn’t make it this season (due to some special events in town).

Then, in the same breath, I realized FOMO (fear of missing out) really sneaks in when you believe there’s “nothing better” to do. Reality is (gasp) there’s always something better.

So I’m sharing 4 tips I discovered this season on how I get through Fashion Week FOMO:

1. Be Present

Right now I am super focused on completing the rest of my apartment’s interior design process, planning upcoming travels and structuring projects for the next season. As I begin to think of these commitments, a wave of excitement floods my heart. There’s always something better that’s coming, but I think the key here is being appreciative in the present of all that you are walking through. Then, little by little things fall into place.

2. Take Care of Yourself

Go to the workout class, cook your favorite meal or go on that date you’ve been talking yourself out of! Recognize what you have been wanting to do this season for awhile and create space for it. Now, open the door and step in confidently…you’ll be surprised at what happens.

3. BTS on Social Media

If you really want to know what’s taking place during Fashion Week, choose a platform you prefer (Instagram, Youtube, Snapchat, etc.), there’s always some fun BTS footage of the getting-ready process, takeovers and glimpses of the looks pre-show to tap into. Think: Gucci, Brandon Maxwell, Alexander Wang, etc. And since the shows are very short, you get to skip the crowds of people! #win

4. Read!

I read Business of Fashion almost every single day on my app. Not only do they offer some of the best coverage of Fashion Week, but have become one of my favorite resources for all things fashion and entrepreneurial.
