Ah. The month of love! The world is officially preparing for Valentine’s Day (or avoiding it) which is why I wanted to highlight one thing: loving yourself. With everything pink and red, XOs across the stores, the chocolates and flowers that fill every aisle not to mention the bombardment on social media, it’s easy to get caught up in what Valentine’s Day “should” be. But have you thought about caring for that special person… you? Today I’m sharing five of my favorite little luxuries that I discovered are the best ways to say “I love you” to you. 1. Pamper Yourself In my mind enjoying a warm, uninterrupted bubble bath for an hour or so is perfect. Soak up the quiet and soothing ambiance as every worry is being washed away. Insert glass of wine. Face mask. Classical music. Done and done. 2. Write down 5 compliments to yourself Yas, you! Don’t forget to be kind and patient with yourself. I believe words are powerful and can go along way in your heart so write down 5 compliments, recite them 3x and slay the day with confidence. 3. Buy those panties When I was a poor ballerina, I didn’t have much money to spend on clothing so every time it rained or I was feeling down, I bought myself a pair of panties. Sounds silly, but it gave me a pep in my step knowing I was wearing something pretty. Good underwear is the foundation to every look! Plus, it’s appeal is not only feminine but empowering. 4. Dive into a good read Light the candle or turn on your diffuser and pick up that book you’ve been meaning to start/finish. You may be pleasantly surprised by how some paragraphs or even a few sentences can inspire you. 5. Quality time Turn that phone on sleep mode for an entire day (if possible) and let your loved ones know you’re doing so. Take a break from all the notifications and give yourself uninterrupted time to do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do. So yes, even though holidays come and go, I believe these little luxuries (and ways to say “I love you” to you) stay with you forever. Off I go, number 1 is calling my name! Totally agree with this post (and I will buy those panties!). Also love the lipstick you are wearing, which one is it? <3 Reply
