An Espadrille Escape

ESPADRILLES: (c/o) Marc Fisher LTD

BLOUSE: (c/o) ParkerNY/SKIRT: (c/o) Lovely Pepa Collection/EARRINGS: (sold out) more options here/BAG: Indego Africa

Le sigh… one of the most beautiful spots I found at GoldenEye in Jamaica was this rooftop ledge overlooking the mountains. In the early morning, mist would rise to the top, birds would sing while ocean waves would gently kiss the coastline. Sunrises are my favorite time of the day and I promise you they’re even better in Jamaica! If only I could travel back in time and go back to this very spot – with a cup of fresh Jamaican coffee. Today I’m unpacking, doing laundry and re-packing (yes, re-packing) my very tired suitcase in a pair of leggings that haven’t seen a gym in years and a college t-shirt – with a cup of bland coffee…

So Beachy Mon

BIKINI TOP, BIKINI BOTTOMS (sold out): (c/o) Vitamin A, in partnership with Zappos

Hey Mon!

I was in Jamaica, in case you didn’t notice, staying at the most insane luxury eco-resort called GoldenEye. Yes, the same GoldenEye as the James Bond movie.  Ian Fleming, author behind all the James Bond novels, famously used this place as his retreat. Today it’s a hub for writers, artists, creatives or anyone seeking R&R. Safe to say, I was officially on Jamaican time, and although a struggle at first (to be 5 minutes late to everything, that is) I fully adopted to the amazing mindset of, “relax… everything little thing will be alright” by the end of my time there.

Mérida, Mérida!

(scroll down to the end of the post for outfit details!)

Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Q: Where’s Mérida located?

Mérida is the vibrant capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan. It’s rich in history and colonial heritage and has year-round sunshine. It’s a three-hour drive west from Cancun, is charming and authentic, with a growing artistic bohemian community. There you’ll find streets lined with huge, colonial villas. Colorful buildings with ornate, wrought-iron railings, big windows and grand doorways!

Q: How did you hear about this city?

Don’t laugh but…

Travel Bug

DRESS: (c/o) Marissa Webb/SANDALS: similar – save, spend, splurge/EARRINGS: vintage Valentino

Cough. I have the travel bug. Cough.

The kind of bug where you’re like, “where to next?” days after coming back from one of the most epic trips ever. You know that kind, right? Great. I’m sure you feel my pain.

I’ve spent the past couple of days procrastinating. Pushing all my work to the side to research new and interesting locations around the world. As if my bank account is Beyonce’s. And I’ve found SO many amazing places! From a James Bond inspired hotel in Jamaica to Mexico’s number one luxury estate to an uber-Palm Beach-chic boutique hotel in the Dominican Republic, I’ve spent countless hours researching it all! The issue? Finding time to do these trips.

Streets of Mérida

BLOUSE: Ganni/SKIRT: (c/o) Marissa Webb/SANDALS: old – similar here/BAG: from street vendor/LIPSTICK: “Heat Wave” by Nars

I’m (#sadface) back in Florida but sharing still content from Mérida because we captured so many amazing shots – it’s hard not so share them all!

While shopping for Mexico, I came across this Ganni blouse on Shopbop and immediately gravitated towards it because of the vibrant red flowers. I knew it would look amazing on the colorful streets on Mérida! (PSA: it comes as a dress too!) I paired it with a khaki skirt from Marissa Webb that has black lace accents and a chunky bow that cinches in the waist. #SoMe

The Pink Hotel

TOP (here too), PANTS (here too): Red Carter/SCARF: vintage Saint Laurent via eBay/SANDALS: Express/BAG: Cult Gaia/EARRINGS: Oscar de la Renta

This morning’s visit to Rosas y Xocolate (the famed Pink Hotel in Mérida) was so fun – a must-see if you’re in the city. The food was delicious (so much that we’ll most likely come back for dinner!) and the service was outstanding. Our waiter let us talk for hours while we sipped on coffee and laughed at funny stories about ex-boyfriends and bad dates. It was a great change of pace considering we’ve been nonstop the entire time here!

Easy Breezy Bahamas

TOP, BOTTOMS: (c/o) Everything But Water’s new store in Palm Beach

Just call me “Bahama Mama” from now on because I’m moving to the Bahamas.

Wow, where do I begin. My trip to the Bahamas was nothing but pure bliss…

Upon boarding my plane to Nassau, I was stressed. (What else is new Stephanie?) I was busy planning upcoming trips, sourcing clothing, answering emails, working on edits, writing, etc. I had a lot on my plate so the idea of “taking time off” to hang out in the Bahamas for a week did not seem possible.
