Streets of Mérida

BLOUSE: Ganni/SKIRT: (c/o) Marissa Webb/SANDALS: old – similar here/BAG: from street vendor/LIPSTICK: “Heat Wave” by Nars

I’m (#sadface) back in Florida but sharing still content from Mérida because we captured so many amazing shots – it’s hard not so share them all!

While shopping for Mexico, I came across this Ganni blouse on Shopbop and immediately gravitated towards it because of the vibrant red flowers. I knew it would look amazing on the colorful streets on Mérida! (PSA: it comes as a dress too!) I paired it with a khaki skirt from Marissa Webb that has black lace accents and a chunky bow that cinches in the waist. #SoMe

The Pink Hotel

TOP (here too), PANTS (here too): Red Carter/SCARF: vintage Saint Laurent via eBay/SANDALS: Express/BAG: Cult Gaia/EARRINGS: Oscar de la Renta

This morning’s visit to Rosas y Xocolate (the famed Pink Hotel in Mérida) was so fun – a must-see if you’re in the city. The food was delicious (so much that we’ll most likely come back for dinner!) and the service was outstanding. Our waiter let us talk for hours while we sipped on coffee and laughed at funny stories about ex-boyfriends and bad dates. It was a great change of pace considering we’ve been nonstop the entire time here!

Easy Breezy Bahamas

TOP, BOTTOMS: (c/o) Everything But Water’s new store in Palm Beach

Just call me “Bahama Mama” from now on because I’m moving to the Bahamas.

Wow, where do I begin. My trip to the Bahamas was nothing but pure bliss…

Upon boarding my plane to Nassau, I was stressed. (What else is new Stephanie?) I was busy planning upcoming trips, sourcing clothing, answering emails, working on edits, writing, etc. I had a lot on my plate so the idea of “taking time off” to hang out in the Bahamas for a week did not seem possible.

Celestún Pt. 1

BLOUSE: Lovers + Friends/JEANS: (c/o) Express/BRALETTE: (c/o) Sézane/SANDALS: (c/o) Shopbop

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today is not about stuffed animals, flowers and giant boxes of chocolate. It’s about celebrating the gift of love and all the beautiful things and people in this world. Which seems appropriate considering I’m exploring the tiny (but very beautiful) town of Celestún (about 1.5 hours from Mérida) today with my boyfriend (who makes me so happy – I love you!) and my amazing photographer, Chelsae Anne.

Hola, Mérida!

DRESS: Alexis (c/o) Shopbop/EARRINGS: Kenneth Jay Lane (c/o) Shopbop

Hola from Mérida, Mexico!

Today I’m reporting live from the most beautiful Airbnb I’ve ever seen. (Yes, I promise to disclose the location at the end of my trip! Please hang tight!) You have NO idea how excited I am to finally be here. I’ve been dying to explore this colorful Yucatan town for years but have never had the proper resources to do it (you know, share epic outfits + bring my photographer and boyfriend with me). So last month, I finally pulled the trigger (cue: last month’s creative plateau) in hopes of a new destination spurring inspiration. AND IT’S WORKING!

Wishlist: Swimwear

This season, I’m skipping Fashion Week to explore the Bahamas and Merida, Mexico. It was a hard decision but ultimately, one that makes the most sense for The Style Bungalow! (Think: big fluffy coats vs. tropical goodness) I CAN’T WAIT!

That said, I’m in dire need of new swimwear. Like stat! So I hopped on over to Shopbop.com, one of my favorite destinations for all things contemporary fashion, and found a few suits I couldn’t help but share with you all!

You’ll see a few from Marysia (a former ballet dancer) and the rest from trusted designers like, Karla Colletto and Patbo. Enjoy and let me know which ones are your favorites!

After a busy weekend in Dallas, I returned to Florida needing rest and relaxation. My voice was completely gone (from a terrible cold) and I was beat. My tiny studio apartment was a disaster (from packing, unpacking, packing, unpacking). I had a TON of unanswered emails. Not to mention, the amount work ahead of me that week. I desperately needed to recharge.

Most people prefer to share travel experiences with a friend or partner. Personally, my most cherished memories were traveling solo. As I mentioned in “Viva Mexico Pt. 1,” traveling alone can be life-changing and just as rewarding. Imagine reading in a bungalow while it rains or watching the sunset from your balcony with a glass of wine or taking yourself out to a nice dinner without having to make conversation with someone. It’s nice. You can be introspective; bringing you face to face with your thoughts. You can revel in your selfishness. Save money and so much more… which is why I urge you to make at least one solo trip in your lifetime.
