Season’s Greetings!

As if you haven’t heard Season’s Greetings enough.

Oh. M. Gee. I’ve spent the past couple of days in a state of pure bliss complete with one spa day, my boyfriend’s arrival to Houston and no emails.

The more I grow older, the more I realize the holidays are less about presents and more about the mental break you receive. My mom asked me, “what do you want this year for Christmas?” of which I replied, “to spend time with family and relax.” Between running this blog and maintaining “some sort” of social life, it’s been quite the year. But I’ll touch on this subject later next week when we talk about dun, dun, dun… New Year’s resolutions (which I’m actually not a big fan of but nevertheless, participate in every year.)

K, let’s talk fashion now.

Consignment Secrets

BLOUSE, PANTS, SANDALS: (c/o) Shopbop/BAG: (c/o) SnobSwap/EARRINGS: (c/o) Mercedes Salazar (similar here)/SUNNIES: Ray-Ban

Growing up, I didn’t have a ton of resources so I would get creative and turn to consignment stores to buy designer. Every now and then, I would find gems. Other times, not so much but it was the thrill of the hunt that kept me going back for more. #ConfessionsOfAShopaholic

As I grew older and my taste matured (slash my bank account grew bigger because #adult), my consignment store hunts morphed from meh to awesome. Case in point: the time I found rare Ferragamo loafers, my first pair of Chanel earrings (you can never have too much Chanel!), my favorite Hermes twilly, my first Gucci top handle bag and let’s not forget the Louis Vuitton tote (real, with tags) that was tossed out because someone was tired of it and like a famished tiger in the jungle, I pounced on in like one second.

The past couple of weeks feel like a blur. It’s been go, go, go!

As I write this, I’m back home in my old childhood room in Houston, Texas spending the holidays with my family. Today I stayed in pajamas all day and watched movies with my brother and mom. Tomorrow I’m going to the spa and in the evening, picking up my boyfriend from the airport who will be spending the holidays with my family. I know, #soserious. Given the past couple of weeks have been beyond nonstop for me, I could not be happier to hit the snooze button, relax and unwind for two weeks. It’s much needed.

Don’t worry! I’ll still be publishing on here. As I mentioned in my previous post, I shot a ton of content in advance so that I could take this time off. So with that said – let me introduce tonight’s look from Express Petites!

Hello hello!

We are T-MINUS one week until Christmas! Say what?!

Today’s my last day in Palm Beach before I dash off to Texas. I’ve spent the past week shooting SO many fun outfits for you guys. I cannot wait to share them! I did this so I could take a proper break and spend time with family. I do this every year – it’s my way of unplugging. (Even bloggers need to unplug every now and then!)

I’ll still be posting but not shooting! You would be amazed at how much time it takes between styling, steaming, hair and makeup and location scouting. It’s a lot! AND the best part of the holidays? NO EMAILS. Can I get an, “AMEN!” Bloggers are bombarded with emails on a daily basis but during the holidays, it’s quiet so I CAN’T wait!

Want know what’s on the agenda this Christmas break? One spa day. Lots of holiday movies in PJs with my family and boyfriend (yes, he’s coming!). Some shopping (for myself, duh). And reading.

But I digress – let’s talk about today’s look!

Happy Friday!

I’m SO SO SO excited to share today’s post because it’s been a labor of love!

As many of you know, I’ve been working closely with the MICHELE Watches team on creating content for The Style Bungalow. Our partnership has been a dream come true! Not only do they give me full creative freedom but above all, I feel the brand closely aligns to my style aesthetic which is timeless elegance. And as a blogger, these are the kinds of partnerships I work hard to secure because they are the most authentic to me… and the best for you!

So with that said, let me introduce today’s video shot at the beautiful Kips Bay Decorator Show House in West Palm Beach. The house is a historic 1920s home featuring rooms created by 17 different A-list designers. Not only was it the most gorgeous backdrop for today’s video, but it’s also supporting a good cause with profits going towards the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. It’s on display through Dec. 19, so definitely stop by if you can! It’s total #homegoals.

Shopping Season!

Ok, so last week I mentioned how one of my goals for this holiday season was to shop early. #check

This week, I’m sharing a post for those of you who (like me in previous years) leave shopping to the last minute. Because let’s be real: with the craziness of the holiday season, the task of shopping for your loved ones can feel a bit overwhelming. And taking into consideration everyone’s personal style and taste… seems impossible, especially if you’re from my family.

Last month, I was introduced to Clare Viver’s holiday collection at Nordstrom. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect topic for those of you who experience the same problem. There was a style for everyone… your mom, sister, aunt, bestie. Literally everyone.

But first a little background…

Holidays with River Island

When it comes to shopping, everyone has their favorite stores, but every once and awhile, it’s nice to switch things up. That’s where River Island + today’s look comes in.

In case you haven’t read about River Island on my blog yet, the UK based brand is known for their stylish, affordable fashion. The unique touches they bring to their collections help anyone, from petite to plus, stand out in the crowd. Click here, here and here to see some of my favorite looks!

All of their products are designed in-house and, they change things up in-store and online every single week.

So, in honor of the holidays (what’s new), I decided to share (yet, another!) River Island look today!

LOOK 2 -> LEATHER JACKET, DENIM SHIRT, JEANS, BOOTS (similar here): (c/o) Lucky Jeans

Ohhh the holidays. The magical time of year when family togetherness, twinkly lights, and tasty treats take center stage. For some, the cold weather slowly rolls in, and your trusty puffer coat seems to be the only thing keeping you alive! For me, this means spending the holidays in sunny Palm Beach, Florida and in Houston, Texas where I usually opt for leather jackets, comfy jeans and boots to keep me warm.

(Side note, one of my favorite cold-weather-approved items being a leather jacket in a neutral color like grey, black or brown. You can’t go wrong. Leather jackets are timeless. Classic. They work with everything from jeans to a cocktail dress. Yes, they are pricey. But worth every penny because you will have it in your closet forever!)

This year, I teamed up with Lucky Brand to share my unique holiday traditions with you guys. I’m pretty rooted in the same holiday traditions – year after year – like movie marathons after opening presents or listening to oldies and baking with my dad…

A Priceless Gift from David Yurman

As a little girl, I was always attracted to my mother’s jewelry. I would hide in her closet for hours gazing at the intricacies of her pieces – the shapes, the colors, the metals – until she would find me draped in her jewelry and say, “Stephanie! What on earth are you doing?!”

Eventually, she would sit next to me and explain where each piece came from as we put everything away in her jewelry box. “This broach came from my mother’s collection.” “Your father bought this necklace in Europe.” “This gold bangle was from David Yurman; a gift I bought myself.” “I found these rings at a flea market.” “These earrings are real – DO NOT TOUCH.” Sigh, I’ll never forget those drop diamond earrings…

7 For Mankind Jeans

BLAZER: similar here, here and here/TEE: old, similar here/JEANS: 7 for Mankind/SLINGBACK PUMPS: here/BAG: here and here

In approximately four days, Art Basel starts. In approximately twenty-two days, Christmas Eve is here. And in twenty-nine days, a new year begins.

To say I’m stressed is an understatement. Once again, my schedule is overflowing with amazing events, holiday parties and family gatherings. No complaints but this time of year also means I seek complete comfort on my days off. Like, comfortable jeans.

Aside from seeking comfy jeans, I strive to find jeans that flatter my petite figure. Contrary to what you see on Instagram (angles, guys), my legs aren’t that long. They are slim which helps, sure. But they aren’t insanely long. The key to my leg-lengthening looks lies in the tailoring. Let me explain…
