It was such an honor celebrating the one year anniversary of Gal Meets Glam in charming Charleston! Every detail that Julia, Thomas and the Gal Meets Glam team put together was incredibly thoughtful, creative and intuitive. From our boutique inn to the snacks we had to the alfresco dinners and an itinerary complete with their favorite recommendations were the perfect, personal touch! We were able to enjoy Charleston through their lens while sharing the beauty of her newest April Collection (confession: I had more than one favorite!). They welcomed us all in like family and filled everyday with even more charm. I fell in love with the enchanting weekend we had and couldn’t help but think you’d love it, too! So I am sharing last weekend’s details with you in Gal Meets Glam style as well as local favorites from Julia’s itinerary. Jumpsuit: (c/o) Gal Meets Glam Scarf: (c/o) Gal Meets Glam Bag: Flynn Where We Stayed 86 Cannon This 1860’s restored historic home turned boutique inn is filled with French elements, midcentury finishes and of course, the traditional Charleston elegance. Definitely feeding my interior inspiration at every corner! It’s also owned and managed by a lovely couple who live next door with their two cute cockapoos! Everyone was so friendly, flexible and attentive to our needs. Plus, there’s complimentary European-style breakfast served in the Cafe, then wine and cheese pairings in the afternoons daily – a wonderful pick-me-up! Our Activities Nathaniel Russell House and Roper House Julia selected two majestic, historic homes for us to tour – and wow, they were sensational! They had some of the most stunning gardens and porches I have seen. Each detail still maintained and preserved as best as possible. We definitely had a lovely time capturing beautiful images here! Cycling Tour Starting at 86 Cannon, we cycled through the charming, pastel town in the morning. Stopping along pretty pink walls, the iconic Rainbow Row and neighborhoods near King Street, the Battery and downtown…it was a quick way to avoid traffic and see the city like a local. Jumpsuit: (c/o) Gal Meets Glam Scarf: (c/o) Gal Meets Glam Sandals: Castaner Dining Out Lunch Malagon A little taste of Spain on Spring Street. From wines, meats, cheeses and more…it’s all an ode to Spain. I love the variety of options on their menu: from a charcuterie board to grilled half lobster to ham croquettes. It definitely satisfies the (authentic) Spanish craving! Julia and Thomas took us here for lunch after our cycling tour. I especially loved the Bright Eyes fresh juice and Rainbow Bowl. It was all so memorable! The Daily For a quick, delicious bite to eat this is the spot! Whether it’s a cup of coffee, pastry, avocado toast or a freshly made salad from the grab-and-go cooler – it’s all quite a treat. Cocktail Hour Citrus Club at the Dewberry Hotel Situated on a whimsical rooftop (aka highest rooftop in Charleston) at The Dewberry Hotel is the lovely Citrus Club. An amazing place to take in panoramic views of the whole city while sipping on a citrus inspired cocktail and nibbling on lite bites as the sun sets across the pastel buildings. The ambiance, state of mind and feeling the setting evokes is magical! Dinner The Ordinary We all enjoyed dinner here on our first night – also one of Julia and Thomas’ favorites! Located in an old bank, now transformed into a high energy, bustling Southern seafood hall and oyster bar. And wow, every dish was a delectable experience! From the smoked fish pate to homemade sea salt chips and steamed fish entree…they were so accommodating to the group and all our dietary needs. 167 Raw Although we did not dine at the actual restaurant, Julia and Thomas had it catered. Pause for another wow moment because the tuna sliders and fish tacos for appetizers were incredible! It was extremely fresh and tasty in every bite. I almost did not have room for the entrée, which we enjoyed a seasoned salmon dish paired with asparagus puree and many complementing sides surrounded by wonderful new friends and uplifting conversations. Jumpsuit: (c/o) Gal Meets Glam Sandals: Loeffler Randall Earrings: Jennifer Behr In between all the above, Julia threw us a surprise, enchanting dinner to celebrate the one year anniversary of Gal Meets Glam. Pink and pastel florals cascaded down the table, lined with string lights from above, (yet again) amazing food all surrounded by smiles, laughs and that warm southern charm – it was truly something special (thank you to Julia and Thomas!) And on our last night, we took a boat tour together and saw the city from the sea before heading home. Honestly, every moment was so special and well thought out. I could not be happier and more honored to be a part of such a wonderful weekend celebration. Julia, Thomas and the whole Gal Meets Glam Team truly made this weekend a picture perfect one…filled with memories I will always cherish! Xo, Stephanie
