As Johnny Carson once put it, “a New York minute is that instant between a traffic light turning green and the guy behind you honking his horn.” Pretty sure that sums up this day of shooting – fast, frenzied and… well, fun.

As the Maxxinista of the Month for TJ Maxx, it’s my job to supplement my own photos in addition to the ones they shoot for ‘This Maxxinista Life.’ Thankfully, Chelsae Anne – my friend and photog for this shoot – met us in NYC to capture a few.

This shot was taken early Saturday morning in the Financial District, amidst a large crowd getting off a tour bus (see the fifth pic.). I really wanted to capture the business of the city – so when the crowd got off the bus, we had just a few seconds to get the shot. And as you can see, we got it!

I love this outfit because it makes summer dressing feel easy. There’s nothing fussy about it, yet it’s still so chic.

This top offers the perfect amount of coverage while keeping you cool. And these silk drawstring shorts are super comfortable thanks to the elastic waist. Not to mention these cork wedges, which are perfect for all day wear. All in all, I think this look is great.

So much more is on the way – stay tuned and be sure to follow TJ Maxx’s Tumblr account as well as their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts all month.

Happy Sunday!

Xo, Stephanie
